Dr. George Underwood is a distinguished leader and passionate advocate for Christian education with over 23 years of pastoral experience. As the Pastor of Emmanuel Bible Church, Dr. Underwood has long been dedicated to fostering spiritual growth and community. His transition from professor to the driving force behind Emmanuel Bible College and Seminary (EBCAS) reflects his burning desire to see God’s people trained with dignity, respect, and a deep understanding of God’s Word. Through EBCAS, Dr. Underwood aims to create an environment where students are not only educated but also spiritually nurtured, preparing them to step out and fulfill their callings as messengers of the Gospel.


As Chancellor of EBCAS, Dr. Underwood brings decades of experience in pastoral ministry and teaching, combining a heart for equipping church leaders with the tools they need to effectively spread the Gospel. His vision for the institution is rooted in his own ministry and experiences, and he is committed to providing a place where students receive both spiritual guidance and academic excellence.


Under Dr. Underwood’s leadership, EBCAS strives to offer a comprehensive academic experience grounded in biblical truth. He collaborates closely with the Board of Advisors and the Alumni Committee, gathering their input to ensure that the academic programs and overall direction of the school continue to progress effectively. His goal is to see EBCAS become a leading institution in Christian higher education, preparing students to serve effectively in ministry and beyond.

Family Life

Dr. Underwood has been happily married to Sarah Underwood for 2 years, he is a father, grandfather great grandfather, adoptive father, and daycare provider. His passion for children extends beyond his personal dwelling, also into the church and community. With a great zeal for education, he founded the Emmanuel Bible College (ebcollege.org) to serve the community and the nations. A native of Alabama, he comes from a humble beginning, and his experiences have shaped his dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of others.

Balancing Family, Leadership,

In his free time, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his friends and relatives. As a father, Dr. Underwood is passionate about creating balanced, nurturing environments for children, both at home and in his professional work with youth.

Dr. Underwood believes that values such as integrity, hard work and kindness have been instrumental in shaping his professional principles and leadership style. These values continue to guide him in his mission to serve others and empower the next generation, at Emmanuel Bible Church, Emmanuel Bible College and Seminary and beyond.
